It took me a long time to embrace my identity as DJ Pastor Rock. I know my way around a recording studio and I have played drums, and dabbled in other instruments, but I never thought I'd find the courage to actually produce music that's my own.
After all, I asked myself, Who would listen to a "Cripple on the Microphone" like me? (Yes, that's one of the song titles on my album, Rolling Nation!)
But here I am. I am proud of who I am, proud of my music, and proud of the message of love and inclusion (with a bit of an edge) that God has put on my heart.
I'm the person who is proud to be described as "angry and bossy" by MC Lars in the song "Rolling Nation."
I'm the person who shares lyrics, music, and poetry with the Poor Peoples' Campaign, and who is using my first album to raise money for Rolling Nation which is a community connection fund established to help people get wheelchair adaptive vehicles.
I'm rolling loud, and rolling proud!
And nothing is going to stop my message of inclusion and love.
Listen to my songs on YouTube, including "Bringing Fire", with its signature line, "build me a ramp or I'll burn you to the ground!"
Enjoy, and thanks for listening.
